How to do an 80's Party
During lockdown, I started throwing online parties. I was on my own and didn't fancy getting drunk alone. The internet answered my dilemma and I put together the top of the pop parties and horror films. It became a weekly habit and getting up and having a dance to top of the pops with a drink turned out to be fun.
This evolved into a few Christmas parties and a 70's themed party at the end of dry January.
A few teeny bopper ravers were a bit sarcastic about online parties, but don't knock it till you try it.
In the early days of Twitter, they may have even been shocked.
In those days I had to do the heavy drinker test.
Really enjoyed the alcohol and music parties, but then I had to go dry and dry out.
The 80s party is a bit more organised than the rowdy chaotic early days.
Got the idea for this from supersizers do the 80's.

Instead of being a drink junky be a perfume junky. or spend your drink allowance on your favorite product.
We discovered some perfume is collectible.
We started collecting alcohol too, which is possibly not a good idea if you are a recovering alcoholic.
Then you're not just throwing your money down the drain.
If you're doing the 80's dry you might like the perfume junky idea. Will do this for all my parties xxx
like Sues makeup look - I will try this
Microwave/oven-ready meals
We found some at Sainsburies that are good to yourself.
Starting to trust calorie counting again as have lost some weight from this brand name. Think I might have this for 80's weekend. Trying it out tomorrow and will review for you.
New Romantics disco
Have footage of an actual real disco
It is a private function and caused a sensation in the British broadsheets to the surprise of everyone at the disco.
Also, have a rock version for the rock night idea
The video designer was from the local art college and did the Shakletons high back chair advert - that later got a claim to fame on the British cult TV program Top Gear.
in the powder room lol!!
Literally this 'was' a notorious '80s rock club as it was in the same city as Rita Sue and Bob too, (featuring an 80's party).
Rita Sue and Bob too who live near the Wheatsheaf pub.
London had the Sloanes, but the North has always had the nightlife. Discovered this by living in London and from a Ken Loach film.
London clubs empty early as everyone has to catch the last tube. Also, they have cover singers that aren't very good.
Caught an act like this in South London and Croydon. Really rubbish. He was doing George Michael into Michael Jackson. If you want to go sober consider moving to London as the nightlife is rubbish, but avoid local parties where the booze flows ridiculously.
Like Raquels 80-'s look actually.
Hopefully, the next time 80's parties come round food will be back in the supermarkets.
You can get a ready-made Tiramisu at the co-op
Hope this gets you in the mood for the 80s party!!!
Will be launching in the build-up to the 2nd and 3rd of March.
You can have Black forest gateau again also if you want as it is a traditional Indian favourite.
