 Alternative Glastonbury/folk Concert/Monte Carlo

Not sure what festival food is as I only went to reading once and didn't enjoy camping, so have never been to a festival since.

I have been told it is takeaway food, but there are also healthy options like salad.

For the alternative night off from slimming I would opt for a dinner date at my favourite restaurant.  Instead of getting upset you haven't a ticket or getting upset your area is quiet ~ go for a nice meal instead ~ then just order the food of your choice.

Realistic Food Options until the above are possible again due to post covid.

At the 50's party last month the chip shop was closed so we adlibbed we were in Italy for the 50's.

Then adlibbed more and had frozen food.

We had pizza, chips and some frozen defrosted strawberry cheesecake left over from the 80's party.  It went down really well as we had been on salad and diet food the rest of the month.  I had it watching Lovejoy ~ really enjoyable evening lol!!!

For the Glastonbury party ~ what you have is anything you want as Glastonbury town also has cafes and restaurants.

It is a laid back day off like Glastonbury.

I recommend Horror Hospital.  It is filmed at Knebworth in the 70's.  After this film was made there were hairy holidays at Stately homes.  The film is really good, discovered it during covid lockdown parties.  A new favourite film now.  Great for Alternative Glastonbury.  You can visit the location also, put the link on pinterest.

Sunday Night

I recommend going to a restaurant for your favourite Dinner.  Or cooking your favourite dinner and having your favourite dessert.  There are no rules as it is my idea.  If I was to choose one, I'd have steak, chips and onion rings followed by chocolate cake ~ preferably black forest gateaux.


Another of my favourite dinners is Salad Nicoise, I often choose this in restaurants.  Just discovered it is one of the dinner options available in ~Monte Carlo, where Terry and his wife went on holiday the following year.

You could opt for one of the meals available at Monte Carlo.  Have to agree with Terry on this one, I hate camping.  This idea fits with the style of alternative Glastonbury and the food is more up my street.

Have been living off storecupboard Salad Nicoise during COVID-19, you could make this and serve it with pomme frittes and a french wine until COVID-19 food restrictions go away.

Ideally would prefer it in a restaurant or will find some recipes.

Just chill out, relax back watch some gigs eat your favourite food and add the tipples of your choice.

You can watch them all if you like and stay up till dawn.

 A SUMMER HOLIDAY PARTY ABROAD This idea is something just about everyone wants I would guess.  The dream destinations will obviously vary, but it is one of the reasons we work hard so we can travel to sunnier climes than Britain and have well-earned rest and luxury. Saturday Food The idea is either: 70's buffet party, which could include Swedish food.    Not sure if Ikea is back fully yet, but when it is there are loads of party ideas available.  I actually once impressed a snobby foody by making  hors d'œuvre  from Ikea products, shocked myself but it did.  Suppose I did get Home Economics at school.  Until Ikea is back you can just get whatever there is at the supermarket. A September Island Holiday I got this idea from Japanology. Then thought of Island Holidays around the world. I find this subject a challenge as someone like me isn't supposed to dream of holidaying beyond designated holiday destinations within my class or status. I moved from working class to middle class and not sure what I am now. Have studied this one as for instance Japan is classed as an Island which I didn't know. Britain is an Island but I did that with British June. Ireland is an Island independent of Britain. Decided to feature this instead.  80's party easy access post Used to do this on Tumbler but it wasn't working properly last time so giving this website a try instead.  Have added advertising to make this legal. Just add your 80's fayre, whatever you can get at the moment, till things get better, your favorite 80's tipple, (alcoholic or nonalcoholic) and sit back and enjoy your fave film, will put my film recommendations on here but you can browse Pinterest for loads more 80's film and Tv choices.  Then get up and have a dance in your living room to a top of the pops party and take in some or all of the concerts.  In the COVID lockdown, we stayed up all night till the Waterloo sunset.  Lastly ~ enjoy!!!
