Halloween Fortnight/Alternative Halloween escapism
If your idea of a Witch is Samantha out of Bewitched your actually close to what witches actually were. The nerd discovered this once.
Real Halloween
Are you fed up with Witches being caricatured like Endora used to moan about.
The Young Endora getting her own back at idiots mocking witches.
But you confess to being a Horror film fan.
Now I've discovered Countess Dracula, Weekend TV will be offering a fortnight of alternative entertainment, worth a browse if you like the American style Halloween also as there could be something of interest.
We had an American friend who told us she hated American Halloween as a child as it was really weird. They had those weird tractors, think it had to do with this organisation that was trying to block out the truth by making it weird.
As far as I know, it is when the spirits of loved ones walk the earth again.
This is actually quite beautiful and comforting to know they are all right. They just look like they did when they were alive, just people not freaky.
Decided to do a fortnight as Halloween is midweek this year, so you can do either weekend or both. Will be doing it anyway and watching it ourselves so makes no difference to me.
Food
If you like aesthetics, marketing and quality control when you eat your food.
I'm trying really hard to find ideas that are for Adult British people.
This year has gone too far in my opinion, I've already had to change the brand of a food product but won't go on about it as that would probably give them the reaction they want. As a loyal customer, they've lost my custom though, if everyone does that maybe the joke will be on them.
Endora and Samantha flew around the world to high-end restaurants and insisted on aesthetics.
Fashion
Actually, years after leaving college I discovered what I'd learned is how to design high-end fabrics that someone like Endora would wear.
I'm glad I didn't know what it was as I went into Community art, performance, sales, Tarot reading, and teaching instead.
This is the vintage air hostess look that I'm planning to do.
Halloween Fortnight
Sat food
Mexican
Sat tv
This is a TV series about real haunted homes starring real psychic Mia Dolan. We love this program, the cynic just moans all the time but the format makes the show really entertaining.
Then there is
the Karnstein trilogy 2
or
The Omen two
Sun food
Is a four-course Victorian Menu with a Halloween twist
We grew up on Sunday roasts like in the fantastic Spring and Port Wine film with James Mason. This will be on for another week or so if you want to observe vintage Britain you may enjoy this which is one of my favourite films ~ got so many.
We are quite humble people I suppose.
Hopefully beef and food will come back soon as I was brought up to cook this type of food.
We had quite a Victorian upbringing whereas other parts of Britain opted for takeaways instead.
We'd have a takeaway on Friday sometimes, but always cooked Sunday lunch and sat together as a family.
It was so instilled in me I have cooked Sunday lunch all my life without fail, until COVID food restrictions. Even managed it a few times through COVID.
If you are American descended from Britain your ancestors will probably of eaten this in Victorian times.
Discovered I'm a Victorian lass in Victorian Weekend.
(Eating ready meals all the time annoyed me at first, especially pasta as it is so affordable compared to the price of pasta ready meals. Found it hard to stop making Sunday Lunch also. Just got used to it now I suppose).
Hopefully this weekend I'm going to try my first stilton and port wine and Jaggermeister.
Port and Jaggermeister keep so you can have Port and Stilton again at Christmas and Jaggermeister with Christmas lunch or we do game bird on New Year's day ~ well used to ~ we learned it off a vintage Floyd video.
If you cook with olive oil instead of lard it is healthy.
Also, you can have a slimming push in November to make room for a few Christmas indulgences, then decided to do dry January to compensate for drinking a little bit more at Christmas. This isn't too bad as there will be a 70's party at the end of January to look forward to.
Sun Tv
Have to recommend Carry on Screaming
My favourite Carry on Film although it is more like a Hammer Horror Spoof than a Carry on Film. As it is Victorian it ties into the Victorian Sunday Lunch day off in The Slimming calendar.
