 A British Summer Holiday Party/Britain

Everything has a summer feel and will hopefully be of use to you.

Summer Holiday in Britain food

Ideally you will go for a day out at the seaside or for a picnic in the country, then come back and watch this ~ the food is therefore seaside food, picnic food or what we used to do was go for dinner in an expensive sea food restaurant taking in the local fresh fish.  Great treat to sample Britains finest fayre.

Saturday Night TV

The Two Ronnies

By The Sea and The Picnic

Classic British comedy. Big Ronnie as the crusty old general and little Ronnie as his doltish son lead a family of of English eccentrics including the general's dotty sister , her easily shocked companion and a fiendish small boy with a passion for practical jokes . Add a leggy blonde or two and you have a recipe for some of the sauciest humour this side of Tiddley Cove.

Holiday on the buses

This film survives the PC rules set out in the 80s.  It is really funny and one of my favourites.

A bus depot manager looks for another job in a company after he causes accidents and damages property. There, he meets the inspector who apprehended him for the crashes.

This is old school humour, but really funny and I enjoyed it, think it still works today.

Saturday Night Concerts

Dolly Parton in London

I love this concert

Take a British city Break to London and take in a show.

Sunday Night TV

You can block watch Faulty Towers and The Green Man or I'll load them up separately on weekend TV

Carry on Henry

Another must for any traveller visiting the British Isles is our rich history and Stately Homes.

There are a few Carry on films to choose from, will air them all during the summer.

If you are doing the city break in London, why not try this luxury hotel that Mildred from the nearest and dearest film stays at with her husband George.

You came to London the right week George has discovered James Last is playing at the Royal Albert Hall and he's got tickets.

Sunday Concerts

Will look forward to watching this with some good wine.

Summer reads

I'm not a great reader, but I love sitting in the sun reading, relaxing and doing nothing.

Haven't bought a fiction book for years, so would enjoy this.

Started a collection that will hopefully turn into favourite summer reads.

Conclusion

Hope you enjoy this party, will be on Weekend Tv during July and some will continue into August.

The next online Slimming Calendar Party is August Abroad.

A SUMMER HOLIDAY PARTY ABROAD This idea is something just about everyone wants I would guess.  The dream destinations will obviously vary, but it is one of the reasons we work hard so we can travel to sunnier climes than Britain and have well-earned rest and luxury. Saturday Food The idea is either: 70's buffet party, which could include Swedish food.    Not sure if Ikea is back fully yet, but when it is there are loads of party ideas available.  I actually once impressed a snobby foody by making  hors d'Ĺ“uvre  from Ikea products, shocked myself but it did.  Suppose I did get Home Economics at school.  Until Ikea is back you can just get whatever there is at the supermarket. Then serve with a 70's alcohol like Mateus or Cinzano or of course Swedish vodka.  Found two beers at Ikea so maybe it will be back soon.  We used to buy a lot of their alcohol. pinterest.com/saphireblack/homemaker-tips/an-august-summer-holiday-abroad-party/ or...
A September Island Holiday I got this idea from Japanology. Then thought of Island Holidays around the world. I find this subject a challenge as someone like me isn't supposed to dream of holidaying beyond designated holiday destinations within my class or status. I moved from working class to middle class and not sure what I am now. Have studied this one as for instance Japan is classed as an Island which I didn't know. Britain is an Island but I did that with British June. Ireland is an Island independent of Britain. Decided to feature this instead. Another place I'd like to visit.  A tarot friend of yore recommended Dublin and The Crowley deck ~ she was right about the Tarot deck. Also, we love Irish coffee ~ you can also make calypso coffee. Saturday food Japanese or Hawaiin Japanese  I would recommend Wagamma, which is a Japanese restaurant or Hawaiin https://uk.pinterest.com/saphireblack/a-september-island-holiday/saturday-hawaiin/ If you are struggling to get food yo...
80's party easy access post Used to do this on Tumbler but it wasn't working properly last time so giving this website a try instead.  Have added advertising to make this legal. Just add your 80's fayre, whatever you can get at the moment, till things get better, your favorite 80's tipple, (alcoholic or nonalcoholic) and sit back and enjoy your fave film, will put my film recommendations on here but you can browse Pinterest for loads more 80's film and Tv choices.  Then get up and have a dance in your living room to a top of the pops party and take in some or all of the concerts.  In the COVID lockdown, we stayed up all night till the Waterloo sunset.  Lastly ~ enjoy!!! Saturday  These are my film recommendations ~ there are more in pinterest.  You can also try these two looks out in the 80s party fashion folder. Get up and dance off the food and drink to the top of the pops or drink water and get fit and loose weight, You can opt to celebrate all nig...
