 November Fancy Dress Party

You can go as whatever you want.  

I have put a few ideas for you as inspiration.  

It is a 20's style fancy dress party where you choose your own costume.

November 30th and December 1st

60'S CHICKEN AND CHIPS

You can serve it in a basket.

(if you are slimming, we oven roast a chicken in olive oil and serve with low fat oven chips).

If you aren't dieting you could get Kentucky fried chicken or do rotiserie chicken coated in sugar and fries.

There are a lot of costumes ideas loaded into pinterest fashion calendar or you might be inspired by some of the films.

It was my favourite Carry on film when I was little and still is.

I love how the women of the Wild West stood up to men.

They were the original empowered feminist maybe.

Realise this film shaped my life and came in subliminly when I was up against impossible situations with men and teenage boys in schools.

Only realised this from studying carry on films.

Gangsters and Molls



I think this is probably my favourite gangster film.  As I've studied films for a while, I like how it links to a lot of other gangster films from the Eastend of London arond this era.

It records the nightlife, 'up North', that a Ken Loach film tells of.

It is set in Newcastle, but with the Landlord from Queenies Castle, I am still finding new discoveries every time I watch this film.

It is also either interesting or annoying how the North of England got bungled into one place around that era, even though it is a vast area that varies a lot.

I think out of all the gangster films from this era, this is definately my favourite because of Michael Caine and Britt Ekland.

The style from Get Carter definately helped to shape and improve the North of England After this film and up until covid.  If you watch Likely Lads the Movie when it comes round again.

A similar thing happened in Manchester, you can't help wonder if post covid Britain is crying out for a makeover a bit similar.

Not all coal miners were staunch and were actually happier being Rock Stars or Degree Graduates.

Brilliant film if you have never seen it.

There is an actual true story similar to this, not sure if it is the inspiration behind it.

You can do this again now as beef is back.

Also crisps are back

and m and s crisps

You can get low calorie or normal ones.

We will probably get Mateus wine and Cinzano.  

We will get Blue Nun wine if we can source any.  Then Gordon's gin like every weekend.  Also 70's beer for the men.

Sunday concert


Love this concert getting dressed up to see two classic guitarists in a stately home.  My college was like this.  We saw loads of plays put on by the drama students.  Our college was a bit like Covid as it was in the middle of nowhere with a massive hike to the buses.  I was healthy luckily as I used to live on a hill.  Walked for a bus and enjoyed the nightlife of the North left over from The Get Carter film influence.

Just add your favourite tipple and enjoy.

The next online party is The Christmas Party and 8 days of liqueur; you could get 8 different liqueurs or just have your favourite ones.

 A SUMMER HOLIDAY PARTY ABROAD This idea is something just about everyone wants I would guess.  The dream destinations will obviously vary, but it is one of the reasons we work hard so we can travel to sunnier climes than Britain and have well-earned rest and luxury. Saturday Food The idea is either: 70's buffet party, which could include Swedish food.    Not sure if Ikea is back fully yet, but when it is there are loads of party ideas available.  I actually once impressed a snobby foody by making  hors d'œuvre  from Ikea products, shocked myself but it did.  Suppose I did get Home Economics at school.  Until Ikea is back you can just get whatever there is at the supermarket. A September Island Holiday I got this idea from Japanology. Then thought of Island Holidays around the world. I find this subject a challenge as someone like me isn't supposed to dream of holidaying beyond designated holiday destinations within my class or status. I moved from working class to middle class and not sure what I am now. Have studied this one as for instance Japan is classed as an Island which I didn't know. Britain is an Island but I did that with British June. Ireland is an Island independent of Britain. Decided to feature this instead. Another place I'd like to visit.  A tarot friend of yore recommended Dublin and The Crowley deck ~ she was right about the Tarot deck. Also, we love Irish coffee ~ you can also make calypso coffee.  80's party easy access post Used to do this on Tumbler but it wasn't working properly last time so giving this website a try instead.  Have added advertising to make this legal. Just add your 80's fayre, whatever you can get at the moment, till things get better, your favorite 80's tipple, (alcoholic or nonalcoholic) and sit back and enjoy your fave film, will put my film recommendations on here but you can browse Pinterest for loads more 80's film and Tv choices.  Then get up and have a dance in your living room to a top of the pops party and take in some or all of the concerts.  In the COVID lockdown, we stayed up all night till the Waterloo sunset.  Lastly ~ enjoy!!!
