Asti Spumante was popular in the 1970s. It was often seen as a cheaper alternative to Champagne.

Have to say we would have prawn cocktail, steak and chips then black forest gateau.  The news says you still can't get steak, so we are opting for Indian with side dishes, poppadoms and naan.

I got into Vindaloo from the last time I watched the good life.

Mr Axelfords Angel has a scene in a 70's Indian restaurant, also Black forest gateau is really popular in India

Have collected up some 70's recipes if you can get these ingredients where you live and can cook on your hob.

 A SUMMER HOLIDAY PARTY ABROAD This idea is something just about everyone wants I would guess.  The dream destinations will obviously vary, but it is one of the reasons we work hard so we can travel to sunnier climes than Britain and have well-earned rest and luxury. Saturday Food The idea is either: 70's buffet party, which could include Swedish food.    Not sure if Ikea is back fully yet, but when it is there are loads of party ideas available.  I actually once impressed a snobby foody by making  hors d'œuvre  from Ikea products, shocked myself but it did.  Suppose I did get Home Economics at school.  Until Ikea is back you can just get whatever there is at the supermarket. A September Island Holiday I got this idea from Japanology. Then thought of Island Holidays around the world. I find this subject a challenge as someone like me isn't supposed to dream of holidaying beyond designated holiday destinations within my class or status. I moved from working class to middle class and not sure what I am now. Have studied this one as for instance Japan is classed as an Island which I didn't know. Britain is an Island but I did that with British June. Ireland is an Island independent of Britain. Decided to feature this instead.  November Fancy Dress Party You can go as whatever you want.   I have put a few ideas for you as inspiration.   It is a 20's style fancy dress party where you choose your own costume. November 30th and December 1st Saturday Food 60'S CHICKEN AND CHIPS You can serve it in a basket. (if you are slimming, we oven roast a chicken in olive oil and serve with low fat oven chips).
