 Yardley

English Rose

Was delighted to receive this haul after The Victorian Party.

My roots aren't England, but I was born here so I suppose I am an English Rose by birth.

Where I grew up still had design left from Victorian Times so I found myself in Victorian Times.

I obviously don't have a Victorian dress and don't want one, so I found a pretty feminine floral dress to wear.

This perfume is really me as it is soft and feminine.

I also love the bottle and packaging design; it would look lovely on a shabby chic dressing table if your an old fashioned romatic type of woman like me.

The fragrance isn't strong or long lasting, but it doesn't cost a lot so you can afford to keep topping it up.

Great if you don't like to overpower people in the daytime.

I don't care either way as I'm a perfume junky.

The packaging design is also really pretty.

Didn't think I'd ever get this even though the garden centre round the corner from me used to sell it and the chemist in the local village used to sell it, maybe the chemist harked back to Victorian times and sold it since then until it shut down in covid.

Seems more important now it is so hard to aquire.

Yardley
FloralScapes
Coast
I think this is a fairly newer edition to Yardley but not sure.
The fragrance is Yardley anyway.
I think it must be the fragrance of flowers on the English coastline.
It is therefore an obvious choice if you are going for a cliff walk by the English sea side.
I will take this with me and wear it if I ever go for a cliff walk by the sea again ~ got our favourite walks like most people.
If I wore this dress would obviously wear more suitable walking attire.
Think it would be fairer on other people to smell this subtle fragrance whilst out on their walk.
Have to say I'm not a fan of people who wear strong fragrances when they go for a walk in the countryside or sea side.

One of our local seaside towns is really Victorian so will hopefully wear this to go there one day.
Conclusion
Hope you like this air hostess addition.
Quite quaint so maybe not for everyone.
I love them, love flowers, especially roses and feminine fragrances.
They are great value if you are one of the women moaning about perfume prices.
I'm quite tight harking back to the Victorian principles still around in my town, but not bothered about perfume prices as perfume is one luxury I have always had.
The links are in Perfume Junky Archive on Pinterest if you want to purchase them.
Hope you are enjoying Perfume Junky and have had some hauls from it too.
Enjoy

A SUMMER HOLIDAY PARTY ABROAD This idea is something just about everyone wants I would guess.  The dream destinations will obviously vary, but it is one of the reasons we work hard so we can travel to sunnier climes than Britain and have well-earned rest and luxury. Saturday Food The idea is either: 70's buffet party, which could include Swedish food.    Not sure if Ikea is back fully yet, but when it is there are loads of party ideas available.  I actually once impressed a snobby foody by making  hors d'Ĺ“uvre  from Ikea products, shocked myself but it did.  Suppose I did get Home Economics at school.  Until Ikea is back you can just get whatever there is at the supermarket. Then serve with a 70's alcohol like Mateus or Cinzano or of course Swedish vodka.  Found two beers at Ikea so maybe it will be back soon.  We used to buy a lot of their alcohol. pinterest.com/saphireblack/homemaker-tips/an-august-summer-holiday-abroad-party/ or...
A September Island Holiday I got this idea from Japanology. Then thought of Island Holidays around the world. I find this subject a challenge as someone like me isn't supposed to dream of holidaying beyond designated holiday destinations within my class or status. I moved from working class to middle class and not sure what I am now. Have studied this one as for instance Japan is classed as an Island which I didn't know. Britain is an Island but I did that with British June. Ireland is an Island independent of Britain. Decided to feature this instead. Another place I'd like to visit.  A tarot friend of yore recommended Dublin and The Crowley deck ~ she was right about the Tarot deck. Also, we love Irish coffee ~ you can also make calypso coffee. Saturday food Japanese or Hawaiin Japanese  I would recommend Wagamma, which is a Japanese restaurant or Hawaiin https://uk.pinterest.com/saphireblack/a-september-island-holiday/saturday-hawaiin/ If you are struggling to get food yo...
November Fancy Dress Party You can go as whatever you want.   I have put a few ideas for you as inspiration.   It is a 20's style fancy dress party where you choose your own costume. November 30th and December 1st Saturday Food 60'S CHICKEN AND CHIPS You can serve it in a basket. (if you are slimming, we oven roast a chicken in olive oil and serve with low fat oven chips). If you aren't dieting you could get Kentucky fried chicken or do rotiserie chicken coated in sugar and fries. There are a lot of costumes ideas loaded into pinterest fashion calendar or you might be inspired by some of the films. Saturday Night Cowboys and Indians This is my favourite Carry on film https://uk.pinterest.com/pin/214132157275587780/ It was my favourite Carry on film when I was little and still is. I love how the women of the Wild West stood up to men. They were the original empowered feminist maybe. Realise this film shaped my life and came in subliminly when I was up against im...
